A police operation has concluded after shutting down an area near Victoria Avenue in central Regina for several hours Tuesday. Upwards of a dozen Regina Police Service (RPS) vehicles were witnessed responding to a scene on the 2000 block of Elliot Street Tuesday at around 9:30 a.m. According to RPS, officers responded to a weapons call after a man was reported to be outside a home in the area, holding a firearm. Over the course of the operation, the service’s canine unit and SWAT team were deployed. RPS says several people have been taken into custody. However, no charges have been laid as of Tuesday evening. The operation concluded at around 4:30 p.m.
