A teenager is facing charges following a firearm incident at Norquay School on Wednesday. Kamsack RCMP received a report of a male teenager with a firearm at a business in Norquay around 12:45 p.m., according to an update from Saskatchewan RCMP on Friday. The teen was last seen walking towards the school in the community, so RCMP immediately notified the school, which enacted its lock down procedures. Through investigation, the teen was arrested inside the school. Officers seized an imitation firearm and charged the boy with one count of possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose. RCMP say no students or staff at the school were threatened or injured by the teen. The teen, whose name is protected under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is scheduled to appear in court in Kamsack on June 23. Norquay is located about 287 kilometres northeast of Regina and about 345 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
