Saskatchewan RCMP’s Trafficking Response Team (STRT) seized an array of illicit narcotics in a recent operation in Yorkton. On March 23, the STRT and RCMP’s Critical Response Team arrested a man at a hotel parking lot on 7th Avenue North in Yorkton as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation. After the arrest, police executed a search warrant on a room inside the hotel, according to a Wednesday RCMP news release. During the search, police seized around 616 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of fentanyl, cash and a drug trafficking paraphernalia. The investigation led to four charges being laid against a Mississauga, Ont. man. They include trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and fentanyl, in addition to possession of the property of crime under $5,000. The accused made his first appearance in Yorkton Provincial Court on March 24.
