A man is dead after an “incident” at a facility in Assiniboia, Sask. On Thursday afternoon, Saskatchewan RCMP provided a statement surrounding the incident. The police service provided few details, citing privacy obligations. On Nov. 1, Assiniboia RCMP received a report of an assault at a facility in the community. Officers responded and determined an altercation took place between two individuals. One of the individuals, an adult male, was taken to hospital. On Nov. 3, police were notified that the man had died in hospital. The RCMP continues to investigate the circumstances of the altercation. The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is actively investigating the cause of the man’s death. No charges have been laid in relation to the incident, which remains under investigation. The service did confirm that the two individuals involved in the altercation were not employees of the facility.
