Kamsack RCMP are conducting an urban search in the community as they’re working to locate a missing 40‑year‑old man, Stanley Severight. Severight was reported missing on Feb. 18 at around 4:30 p.m. and was last seen on Feb. 15 at about 5 p.m. in Kamsack, located about 270 kilometres northeast of Regina. In an update sent Saturday afternoon, Saskatchewan RCMP said the search and rescue unit has been brought in to assist, and residents can expect an increased police presence between Feb. 21 and Feb. 22. Officers are searching areas near downtown Kamsack including back alleys. Police are asking property owners in the community to check sheds, outbuildings and other structures for anything unusual as the search continues. He also goes by the names Stanley Strongquill and Junior Strongquill. He is described as six-foot and three inches tall and 230 pounds with brown eyes and short brown hair with red or orange colouring. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and red pants. He also has letters tattooed on a finger and a small handprint tattooed on his right hand. Severight is known to travel to Yorkton, Saskatoon and Regina. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Kamsack RCMP. Anonymous tips can be shared with Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
