Hyundai
Hyundai is recalling 9,669 vehicles in Canada for a trailer wiring harness that may not have been manufactured properly, increasing the risk of a crash and fire.
The impacted vehicle is the Hyundai Tucson, model years 2022, 2023 and 2024.
“Water could leak into the harness and cause it to fail. If this happens, the trailer lights and/or the vehicle’s stop lights may not work. This could also cause the wiring harness to short circuit,” the notice said.
“Vehicle and/or trailer lights that don’t work could make the vehicle and/or trailer less visible and cause others not to recognize that the vehicle is braking or intends to turn or change lanes.”
The recall affects vehicles equipped with a Hyundai Genuine accessory trailer wiring harness, with the part number N7H03-AP100.
According to the notice, this recall is for certain trailer wiring harnesses that were installed before delivery or sold as a dealer accessory.
Owners who have an impacted vehicle will be notified by Hyundai in writing. via writing.
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling 4,115 vehicles in Canada over issues with airbags and seat belts , which may not function properly.
The models affected are:
- Ram 2500, model year 2025;
- Ram 3500, model year 2025;
- Ram 4500, model year 2025; and
- Ram 5500, model year 2025.
This recall also affects certain RAM 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cab incomplete vehicles.
“On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the occupant restraint controller (ORC) module to turn off while driving,” the notice said.
“If this happens, the airbags, seat belt pretensioners, and electronic stability control (ESC) system would not work.”
According to the notice, this issue would cause the airbag warning light, the antilock braking system (ABS) light, and seat belt reminder light to display.
Owners who have an affected models will be contacted by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and advised to take the vehicle to a dealership to update the ORC module software.
Kia
Kia is recalling 3,254 vehicles in Canada due to software that may not work properly, increasing the risk of a crash.
The affected model is the Kia Sportage, with the model years 2023, 2024 and 2025.
“On certain vehicles, the tow hitch harness control module software could cause the instrument cluster to reboot while driving,” the notice said.
“If this happens, you may not be able to see certain information about the vehicle, including the speedometer, warnings, and tell-tales.”
According to the notice, this recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 4.2-inch screen and a Genuine Kia tow hitch harness.
Owners who have an affected model will be contacted by Kia by mail and asked to take the vehicle to a dealership for replacement of the tow hitch harness control module if needed.
Toyota
Toyota is recalling 2,411 hybrid vehicles in Canada for an assembly issue that could increase the risk of a crash or fire.
The affected models are:
- Toyota Camry Hybrid, model years 2025 and 2026; and
- Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, model year 2026.
“On certain vehicles, a bolt in the inverter assembly for the hybrid system may not have been tightened properly,” the notice said.
“As a result, the vehicle could enter a reduced power mode or lose power to the wheels. Additionally, if the bolt becomes loose in the inverter assembly and the ignition is on, it could cause a short circuit.”
Toyota said it will contact owners who have an affected model by mail.
Ford
Ford is recalling nearly 1,300 vehicles in Canada in four separate recalls related to safety.
One of the recalls impacts 683 vehicles, and relates to a rear axle shaft that that may not have been manufactured properly, increasing the risk of a crash and injury.
“As a result, the axle shaft could break and cause a loss of power to the wheels. Additionally, if the truck is parked and the parking brake isn’t applied, the truck could roll away,” the notice said.
The affected models are:
- Ford F-250 Chassis Cab, model year 2026;
- Ford F-250 Super Duty, model year 2026;
- Ford F-350 Chassis Cab, model year 2026; and
- Ford F-350 Super Duty, model year 2026.
This recall also affects certain Super Duty incomplete vehicles, the notice says.
According to the notice, this recall only affects single rear wheel trucks with 10.5-inch rear axle.
Owners who have an affected model will be contacted by Ford, and advised to take the truck to a dealership for replacement of the right-rear axle shaft.
A recall impacting 359 vehicles warns that the instrument panels in 2025 Ford Mavericks might not have been manufactured properly.
“As a result, the instrument panel topper could detach and be propelled toward vehicle occupants when the passenger-front airbag inflates in a crash,” the notice said.
“A panel that is propelled towards vehicle occupants could create an increased risk of injury.”
Ford said it will contact owners by mail and ask them to take the vehicle to a dealership to replace the instrument panel topper.
Ford is also recalling 162 vehicles because of faulty seatbelts, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.
The affected models are:
- Ford Escape, model years 2025 and 2026; and
- Lincoln Corsair, model years 2025 and 2026.
“On certain vehicles, the left and right rear seat belt retractors may not have been secured properly,” the notice said. “As a result, the seat belts may not work properly in a crash.”
Owners who have an impacted vehicle will be notified by Ford via mail, and told to take the vehicle to a dealership to secure or replace the rear seat belt retractor bolts.
In another notice, drivers are advised that 55 vehicles are being recalled. These SUVs and cars were initially the subject of an earlier recall. The company warned that that repair, related to an issue with warnings that indicate whether the vehicle is in “park,” that may not have been performed correctly.
As a result of this issue, the vehicle could roll away if the driver is unaware that the transmission is not in park, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
The affected models are:
- Ford Expedition, model year 2019; and
- Ford Mustang, model year 2019 and 2020.
“When the ignition is turned off, with the driver door closed, the message and chime to warn that the transmission is not in park are only active for 3 seconds,” the notice said.
“Instead, the chime should sound for 10 seconds and the message should display for 30 minutes.”
Ford said it will contact owners who have an affected model by mail, asking them to take the vehicle to a dealership to reprogram the instrument panel cluster.
BMW
BMW is recalling 101 older vehicles in Canada over an issue related to airbag inflators, warning the problem poses a risk of injury and crash.
The impacted models are:
- BMW 2 Series, model year 2014;
- BMW 3 Series, model year 2014; and
- BMW 4 Series, model years 2014.
“On certain vehicles, the side curtain airbag inflator(s) could rupture and separate unexpectedly,” the notice said.
“As a result, a piece of metal from the inflator could be propelled toward vehicle occupants with or without the airbag(s) deploying. This could also cause the side curtain airbag(s) not to inflate properly in a crash.”
According to the notice, this expands on a recall published in April that impacted 657 vehicles in Canada, related to the same issue.
BMW will contact owners who have an affected model by mail to take the vehicle to a dealership to replace the side curtain airbags.
