Three people, including a 16-year-old, are facing a combined 45 charges after they allegedly fled a traffic stop in Brampton that resulted in a crash and the subsequent seizure of two firearms. Peel police said officers were investigating a vehicle on Worthington Avenue on the evening of Dec. 9 when the driver fled at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control shortly after, and the vehicle broke down, police said. Two men and a teenager were then arrested. Police said officers later found two loaded Glock handguns, a high-capacity magazine that had 26 rounds of ammunition and a drum magazine. Two of the suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Myles Haywood-Williams and 20-year-old Elijah Turney. The 16-year-old cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Haywood-Williams is facing 16 firearm-related charges, as well as dangerous driving and fleeing a peace officer. Turney has been charged with 15 firearm-related offences, while the teenager has 14 charges laid against him.
