Yogurt brand Yoplait has recalled some of its products in Canada due to possible pieces of plastic, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). “This voluntary recall is being carried out as a precaution due to a potential defect in a packaging component that may result in the presence of plastic pieces in the product,” the company, who triggered the recall, wrote on its website. The affected products include all Yoplait YOP 200ml drinkable yogurt flavours, including blueberry, strawberry, strawberry-banana, birthday cake, vanilla, banana, raspberry, peach, yuzu mandarin, tropical, blackberry starfruit, lactose free strawberry-raspberry and lactose-free mango. Affected products also include multi-packs featuring the 200ml Yoplait YOP drinkable yogurt, including the strawberry, vanilla and strawberry-banana pack of 15, the strawberry pack of six, the strawberry-banana pack of six, the strawberry-banana, blueberry, strawberry and raspberry pack of 12 and strawberry and vanilla pack of 12. Impacted dates include all best-before dates up to Jan. 12, 2026, according to the CFIA notice. The company says no other Yoplait products sold in Canada are impacted. According to the CFIA, there have been no reported injuries linked to the consumption of the affected products and the affected products are being removed from the marketplace. The agency asks individuals to verify if they have an affected product and to not consume, sell or distribute if they do. They also advise consumers to throw out or return the recalled product to the location of purchase if they have an affected product. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products, the notice warns.
